The misunderstanding

There is often confusion about how we handle our faith in the blood of Jesus. It is common place among some when they are praying either for someone or a particular situation. They will sprinkle the blood of Jesus over them.

It is claimed that there is no mention of this in the Bible about this. Well there is in the first chapter of  1 Peter. in verse 2. It states that. Elect according to the fore-knowledge of God the Father. Through sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Grace be unto you and peace be multiplied.

You see a scripture is just that, but if we have the faith to put it into action, then it is active in any situation that we put it in. Remember Jesus in the wilderness? he said it is written and his adversary then left him.

If we have problem that seems to be getting worse. Then look for the scripture that applies to it. Confess it over it and say it is written and keep on doing that until results come.

Numbers chapter 23. verse 19. God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man  that he should repent. Has he said and shall he not do it, or has he spoken and shall he not make it good.

That scripture sums it up, if the scripture says it, then it will come to pass. Have a good day and remember that Jesus loves you. So repeat that over yourself a few times and your smile will get bigger!. God Bless you Cyril Almond.

In this new year we have promises that we make to ourselves. Which we will probably break. But what we do need is revelations from the word of God. That means spending time in the word of God which when you really dig into it you will find those gems and verses that are just right for you.

In the service I was in on Sunday there was a word from God spoken out. It referred to the comfort zones we are very reluctant to leave God is going to move us into areas and to people that we have never considered. He will have been before us, so providing we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit we shall then be where God wants us.

We have an altar which is a spiritual one. It is the cross which we know is now empty after our Lord Jesus died on it. But we must remember that we serve a risen Lord and as he emptied himself on there. So must we on our own cross, this is where like Jesus we shall empty ourselves of self.

This is where we shall need the most help from the Holy Spirit. He is the one who will point out to us what bit of self needs to go next. He does this in love because our old nature will fight to keep these things. But he gradually will make us see what is stopping us from coming into true holiness When that happens we are ready to let that one go.

This is a lovely holy ministry and as it progresses we are led closer to that blessed trinity with such a joy that we just want to say to him, whatever it takes just do it. I have a ball with Jesus in this one. My God is no respecter of persons what he is doing for me he will do for you.

So just remember it is your faith in the blood of Jesus that you sprinkle. The Holy Spirit and the blood of Jesus are entwined together. You have faith and he will do what the scripture says and at the same time help us to increase our faith. Now that is power from the throne of grace.

The right way

John chapter 5. verses 30-31.

Jesus was making a powerful statement in these two verses. He sets forth an example of what we should be doing. Obey the voice of God and when we do that, we have peace. Also the joy of knowing a God that would show us a better way to do things for him.

30.  I can of my own self do nothing, as I hear I judge and my judgement is just. Because I seek not my own will but the will of the Father who sent me.

31. If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

Jesus came to earth as a man and he knew that if he trusted his judgement in his natural self. Then he would get it wrong, he knew the voice of the Holy Spirit. This is the same Holy Spirit that will speak to us today!.

If Jesus depended on the voice of God ( Holy Spirit) then so should we. There is a change for the better coming into the church. Be it in building or outside of them. What an awesome thought that Jesus said he could do nothing on his own. Neither should we try to.

Some people say they can not hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. The answer to that one is to spend some time in the word of God and in prayer. They will find that the Holy Spirit will speak to anyone who will listen. He has no favourites, just different people at different times. all depends upon the job in hand.

Of recent times in the early hours I have been led to pray in tongues. There has been some remarkable answers to prayers as a result of this. I would encourage you to pray in this heavenly language. After all it is their language, if you find this difficult then ask the Holy Spirit for his help. He will be there for you, he is not called a comforter for nothing.
